BREAKING NEWS: 50th Anniversary Decorations Starting To Go Up At Cinderella Castle
So our dedicated MickeyBlogger decided to head on over to the park and we can officially confirm that changes are afoot!
As you can see from the image below a stunning 50th Anniversary Banner is now adorning one of the castle walls!
This beauty was seemingly put up overnight! and features a draped banner featuring Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary colors officially dubbed “Earidescent!”
If you look closely, you’ll notice that the ends of the banner feature a 50th Anniversary Logo to mark Disney World’s big birthday!
And in whimsical Fairy Tale fashion the center of the banner is decorated with a beautiful blue jewel.
At the moment, only one segment of the castle walls features the banner.
However, we would expect similar banners to go up nightly now that the transformation is underway.
If you’ll be at the Magic Kingdom this week and want to check out this beauty for yourself you’ll have to do a bit of searching.
The banner is not visible from the front of the castle.
Rather, guests need to go around to the side, almost in front of the Frontierland section of the park to see this new decoration in all its glory!
The image below may give you a better sense of perspective with the front of the castle on the right and Liberty Square directly behind us!
As we previously shared here at MickeyBlog this is just one of many changes coming to the castle as part of the 50th Anniversary Celebrations which will kick off on October 1st and run for 18 fun-filled months!
Construction is also currently happening in front of the Castle as a new stage is being built for an as-yet-unannounced stage show!
In addition, in order to put up the decorations on the castle, the moat around the castle has been completely drained.
Looking down, you’re not likely to see water but rather cranes that are being used to make these magical changes!
There’s no word yet on how many of the banners will be added to the exterior of Cinderella Castle.
We also don’t yet know what other trimmings will crop up in the days and months ahead.
But in the meantime, this first look has us so incredibly excited.
It’s hard to tell from these images but the sheen of the banners really makes them glisten.
We imagine once the entire facade is completed it will be positively wonderful.
The colors also match Mickey and Minnie’s 50th Anniversary outfits which were unveiled recently.
It also ties into the recently updated Magic Kingdom sign that guests see when arriving on property.
Guests, should be prepared for some unsightly construction work during your busy Spring Break visit.
But thankfully because of how recessed the moat is, its difficult to see and won’t put a damper on your poses in front of the castle!
As you can see from the traffic in the HUB area, Spring Break crowds are picking up at the park.
Which only adds to the excitement!
Now that decorating is underway, we here at MickeyBlog will try to keep you updated with images as often as possible.
