Walt Disney World Theme Parks Completely Booked For Spring Break
As you can see from the image above that we took at Magic Kingdom today, Disney is already pretty jam packed as the Spring Break crowds start to descend. That’s why its not surprising to report that Walt Disney World park passes are fully booked going into next week.
Availability for Disney’s Park Pass system was a near sell-out at the start of the week, and today, as you can see below it is now showing no availability from March 13 – March 19.
As you can see starting on Saturday through until next Friday, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios are currently sold out. The rest of the month is also showing as yellow meaning that on each of these days at least one theme park is completely booked. In most instances this is Disney’s Hollywood Studios which is the go-to park just now due to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Though the crowds looked pretty hefty outside of Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café this afternoon, it should be noted that the parks will still be operating at reduced capacity. Last time Disney CEO Bob Chapek spoke regarding attendance he said that parks were currently sitting at 35% capacity.
With vaccinations on the rise and COVID cases down, confidence is returning to the travel industry though some in Florida like Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber worry that spring breakers not following social distancing and facemask requirements could cause cases to rise. According to a recent piece in People. Geiber told CNN that he is “very concerned” about vacationers. “A lot of things are happening simultaneously,” Gelber said. “You have the variant down here, and we still are having sometimes dozens of deaths a day in our county.” The mayor continued, “And at the same time, we’ve got incredibly cheap round-trip tickets for 40 bucks from anywhere in the Northeast down here, discounted rooms and people who have been really pent up and wanting to get out with no other place to go than here.”
With airports reporting larger crowds and Disney looking busier than usual, its going to be an interesting week. Keep following along with us here at MickeyBlog for the latest news and updates!
