The Walt Disney World’s Annual Shareholder meeting is kicking off this afternoon at 1pm PST and we here at MickeyBlog are following along! 1:55 PM: Chapek will look into grandfathering in graduating college students that may have missed out on Disney College Program.
1:54 PM: Chapek: No statement on returning dividends just yet.
1:53 PM: No update on the return of stage shows at Walt Disney World. Chapek says that as they scale back up attendance they will have a clearer sense of what that might look like.
1:45 PM: Chapek on Gina Carano firing, “Disney is not left leaning or right leaning but stands for values.”
1:42 PM: No information just yet on relaunching the Disney College Program.
1:41 PM: No definitive re-opening date on Disney Cruise Line. Chapek says hoping for limited operations by the Fall of 2021.

1:33 PM: Disney Cruise Line’s latest ship – Disney Wish to have it’s maiden voyage in Summer 2022.

1:30pm: Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure to open on October 1st, 2021
1:25 PM: Disneyland hopes to reopen by late APRIL. Iger: Yes, reports say that parks could open by April 1st but will take some time to bring cast members back including training. Official announcement to be made at later date!

1:24 PM: ESPN+ on HULU will launch tomorrow and pay-per-view events will be available starting this summer!
1:23 PM: Disney+ has over 100 million subscribers!
1:22 PM: Pivot to Digital Communications Business Model
1:21 PM: Bob Chapek takes to the stage, thanks Bob Iger for mentorship.
1:19 PM: The Board of Directors has been reelected. Price Waterhouse Coopers has been approved as The Walt Disney Company accounting firm. Both proposals have been defeated.
1:15 PM: Second proposal asking for diversification of Disney’s board including those representing cast members.
1:12 PM: Board of Directors Rejected the proposal.
1:11 PM: As per one of the shareholders proposals, The Walt Disney Company is being asked to disclose lobbying and political contribution. Shareholders asking for lobbying transparency.
1:06 PM: A quorum is present and the shareholders meeting can proceed
1:05 PM: Iger turns floor over to Alan Braverman-DIsney General Council
1:04 PM: Iger: Diversity and inclusion remains a top priority.
1:03 PM: Iger says will be his last shareholders meeting as he looks to depart the company in December.
1:00 PM Bob Iger kicks off the meeting discussing “trying” year. Walt Disney Company is resilient and skilled at adapting in time of crisis.
