It Looks Like Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover Will Remain Closed Through Spring

Ah… the saga of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover continues.  If you’ve been following along with us here at MickeyBlog, you’ll know that this beloved Tomorrowland ride has been down since the Magic Kingdom re-opened last Summer. 

During our many visits to Walt Disney World over the last few months, we’ve noticed the PeopleMover in various states of testing.  

Cast members could be seen moving the cars along the tracks and working on making adjustments to the rides.  

Then, most recently we were told that the attraction needed to have the individual motors of each car replaced which is a process that could take months. 

However, throughout the year, we’ve held out optimism that we would once again be whisked around Tomorrowland on the PeopleMover at some point relatively soon. But,  according to recent hours posted on disneyworld.com, it is looking less and less likely that it will be this Spring. 

As you can see from the image above, Disney World has now updated attraction hours through April 24, 2021 and Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover does not have hours listed during this period.  This suggests to us here at MickeyBlog that Disney is still planning on the ride being down during this time period. 

Now it should be noted that Disney has not said as of yet when they plan to reopen the ride.  We have also known Disney to reopen ahead of schedule so perhaps the reopening of the PeopleMover will surprise us.  Either way, this is a story that we here at MickeyBlog will continue to follow closely.
