Some Important Things To Know About Booking for 2022
If this seems early for packages for 2022 to go on sale – that’s because it is! Disney typically releases packages in June for the following year so 2022 bookings are opening up five months early!
However, because these are different times, there are some changes to booking your Walt Disney Vacation package for the year ahead that you’ll want to be aware of.

Packages Are ONLY Available To Book 500 Days In Advance
Disney only gives guests the ability to book up to 500 days out. Though this policy isn’t new (this happens every year) because Disney World is opening packages for sale earlier for 2020, this means the 500 day cut off happens earlier in the year.

As a result, guests will currently only have the ability to book until July 1, 2022. However, with each day that passes, that’s another day that opens up on the booking window. So for those looking to book the beginning of August 2022, you’ll need to wait until next month to secure your package.
DVC Villas will be available to book but ONLY as far as 11 months out – If you’ve had dreams of staying in a 1 bedroom villa at Animal Kingdom Lodge or an incredible studio at the Polynesian, Disney Vacation Club does release select inventory for the use of Disney guests.
These are only released a maximum of 11 months out meaning you can only book villas at this time through January of 2022. Again, this is on a rolling basis.
Only Walt Disney World Resorts Currently Open Are Available To Book For 2022- After Disney World reopened last Summer, some resort properties were held off sale because attendance was capped due to COVID-19 restrictions. These resorts will continue to be held off sale going into 2022 FOR THE TIME BEING. This includes:

- Port Orleans- Riverside
- Port Orleans – French Quarter
- All Star Movies
- All Star Sports
- All Star Music.
In addition, Disney has stated, “We will continue to evaluate the situation and reopen more locations when the environment is right to do so. Disney Dining packages remain unavailable at this time.”
It is possible these options will open up later in the year at which point those with existing reservations ALWAYS have the option of moving your reservation to one of the currently closed resort properties. However, we have no information yet on when these properties may become available.

Tickets Will Stay at 2021 Pricing- It appears that Disney WILL NOT be increasing the prices of tickets now for 2022. This makes early booking a great option for those wanting to avoid rate hikes.
Though Disney may decide to increase pricing as we inch closer to 2022, in the past Disney has honored the pricing at the time you book meaning that early bookers may save over those opting to wait. It should be noted that this is IN KEEPING with current health guidelines and as these guidelines change we may see these options open up.
Park Pass Bookings WILL STILL Be Required For 2022 Bookings- At the moment, due to social distancing requirements and capacity restrictions Disney is requiring ALL theme park ticket holders to also make theme park reservations through the Park Pass System.
The system was introduced when Disney World re-opened last year to effectively administer attendance caps at the theme parks. Park Pass reservations SHOULD be made as soon as you’ve booked your Walt Disney World vacation package and have a valid confirmation number.
Theme Parks do book up in advance and those without a park pass (even if you have a valid theme park ticket) will not be allowed to enter the park.
For more information on Disney World’s Park Pass System we recommend you visit the Disney website here. It IS possible that Disney will do away with the Park Pass system once restrictions are lifted and parks can again be at 100% capacity. However, there are no timelines for this, so incorporating Park Pass bookings into your planning is a wise idea.
