New Jungle Cruise Figurine Sets Sail
There’s a new Skipper in town! A new Jungle Cruise figurine by artist Jim Shore has sailed into Walt Disney World.
The statuette celebrates 65 years since the Jungle Cruise first launched with the opening of Disneyland Park in 1955. Upcoming enhancements to the “world famous” attraction were announced last week!
In The Details
This new creation from the renowned artist features signature characters from the classic ride. Skipper Mickey Mouse steers his vessel past a hippo, a tiger and the cascading waters of Schweitzer Falls. A detailed jungle scene surrounds our traveler with textured trees and colorful flowers.
The back of the figure is complete with fully painted jungle greenery. (We were hoping to see the backside of water but no such luck!)
Jim Shore’s signature artistry is beautifully on display with a filigree base and rosemaling style. Each piece has a carved wood look and each is hand painted.
Jim Shore Creations
The new sculpture is the latest release in Shore’s longstanding Disney Traditions line with Enesco. Previous theme park figures include The Haunted Mansion, Cinderella Castle, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
