The Finest Hours—Friday, January 29, on Disney+
Its the 5th Anniversary of The Finest Hours and to celebrate it’s now available to stream on Disney+. The movie is based on the true story of the greatest small-boat rescue in Coast Guard history. The resulting tale is one of courage, honor and loyalty in the face of unspeakable odds. When a massive storm hits Cape Cod it rips an oil tanker in half trapping more than 30 sailors on its quickly sinking stern. As Captain Bernie Webber (Chris Pine)’s crew set out to save them while Ray Sybert (Casey Affleck) struggles to buy his crew more time.
Ramona and Beezus—Friday, January 29, on Disney+
Aww this takes me back to pre-Kissing Booth Joey King! This 2010 coming of age comedy was based on the best selling Beverly Cleary books. It tells the story of Ramona (Joey King) a little girl with a big imagination and her older sister Beezus (Selena Gomez) who is trying to survive her first year in high school. Through all the ups and downs of childhood the sisters learn that anything is possible when you believe in yourself and rely on each other!
Sleeping Beauty—Friday, January 29, on Disney+
62 years offer it’s cinematic release Sleeping Beauty remains as treasured today as it ever way. The animated classic tells the story of Princess Aurora (Mary Costa) who was cursed as a baby by the evil fairy Maleficent (Eleanor Audley.) To protect Aurora, fairies Flora, Fauna and Merryweather raise her deep in the forest where Maleficent can’t find her. On her 16th birthday, Aurora meets her betrothed, Prince Philip (Bill Shirley.) Soon after she pricks her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and falls into a deep sleep fulfilling Maleficent’s prophecy. As the prince rushes to her rescue he must battle Maleficent in dragon form!
Heartland Docs, DVM—Saturday, January 30, at 10 p.m. ET on Nat Geo WILD
Doctors Ben and Erin Schroeder have some big tasks ahead in the series premiere. The must castrate an aggressive alpaca and some llamas, bring a mama dog back from the brink, save a horse from bleeding out due to a grisly gash, tend to a constipated cate and heal a hound with a hernia!
Bohemian Rhapsody—Sunday, January 31, at 8 p.m. ET on FX
Be sure to tune in to FX on Sunday for the network premiere of the 2018 biopic about the band Queen for which Rami Malek earned a best actor Oscar as Freddie Mercury. The film won four Academy Awards in this retelling of how Mercury defied stereotypes and convention to become one of history’s most beloved entertainers. Rounding out the cast are Lucy Boynton as Mary Austin, Aiden Gillen as John Reid, Ben Hardy as Roger Taylor, Tom Hollander as Jim “Miami” Beach, Gwilym Lee as Brian May, Allen Leech as Paul Prenter, Joe Mazzello as John Deacon, and Mike Myers a Ray Foster.
