Petition Formed for Walt Disney World to Bring Back the Magical Express in 2022
Last week, Walt Disney World announced how they will be suspending the complimentary Magical Express beginning on January 1, 2022. As you can imagine, this decision was not received well by Disney fans.
One of those Disney fans, Dave Reid, isn’t just talking about the decision to suspend operations of the Magical Express, but is actually doing something about it! Reid has started an online petition for Walt Disney World to keep the Magical Express operating.
The “Save the Magical Express” petition states:
Disney has announced the Magical Express will end on January 1, 2022.
We think this is a massive mistake. We love the Magical Express and consider it an integral part of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort that needs to continue.
Save the Magical Express – Sign the petition today.
Since the “Save the Magical Express” was created over a week ago, it has received just under 6,000 signatures. Reid is hoping to get a total of 7,500 signatures on the petition.
Disney does listen to what Guests have to stay in reference to their new procedures or changes to current ones. However, their decision to shut down the Magical Express in 2022 was probably not a decision taken lightly and every effort to keep it up and running for Guests was reviewed.
Even though the Magical Express might be going away in 2022, there were still be several options for you and your family to get to and from the Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World. One option that is being highly touted is the new train that is scheduled to connect the Orlando International Airport to Disney Springs. In addition, Mears, which has been the third party operating the Magical Express for the past several years, has vowed to continue service for all Guests after the service is suspended by Disney.
