‘Lucasfilm Games’ Announced as Branding for Star Wars Video Games
Lucasfilm and Disney have announced Lucasfilm Games as their branding for all Star Wars related video games.
This newly announced brand will cover all Star Wars games to be released, as well as those already created.
To confirm, Lucasfilm games are not taking on the role of developer.
Studios with access to the license are free to develop and produce games, with this branding shift coming to unite all Star Wars licensed gaming content under one unifying title.
Last year’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a success with creating a new chapter in the Star Wars canon, while also being widely beloved by the gaming community. EA Studios is likely to develop a sequel; with this joining the Battlefront franchise, and next-gen title Rogue Squadron, as their Star Wars entries.
Despite the controversy surrounding EA Studios and Star Wars Battlefront 2 in 2017 surrounding the game’s use of loot boxes, success has been found between Lucasfilm and EA.
Success in gaming has become a part of the Star Wars universe, with Lucasfilm Games acting as the driving force for a more cohesive future in gaming for Disney and Lucasfilm. We’re excited to see what the future will hold following this new announcement.
