Additional Directors Have Signed On To Marvel’s Moon Knight Series
Though many of the details around Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight remain shrouded in mystery, The Hollywood Reporter announced over the weekend that two additional directors have signed on for the project.
According to reports, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, indie filmmakers behind projects like The Endless and Synchronic will be signing on to direct. They’ll be joining Mohamed Diab, the Egyptian filmmaker best know for Clash. Also, as we previously mentioned here at MickeyBlog, the series will star Oscar Isaac in the lead role.

Diab will be directing the majority of the episodes in Season 1. Jeremy Slater (from Umbrella Academy) will be lead writer. According to the piece in THR Benson and Moorhead will reportedly direct several episodes.
For those unfamiliar, Moon Knight is one of Marvel’s classic characters that first made its debut in 1975’s Werewolf by Night #32. The title character is Marc Spector, who was an ex-marine turned mercenary. He has multiple alter egos allowing him to fight crime including cabbie Jake Lockley and millionaire playboy Steven Grant. As the Moon Knight storyline progresses, the character also becomes a conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu.
According to reports, the show will begin shooting in Budapest in March.
Benson and Moorhead are versatile directors who on past projects have been writers, directors, producers, cameramen, editors and even actors. They have become darlings of the festival circuit for their low-budget but well thought out horror movies including 2013’s Resolution. Their latest project was Synchronic, a sci-fil thriller starring Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan.
We are excited to see this project gain momentum! Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for the latest Marvel related news and updates!
