5 Not-To-Be Missed Shows Coming Your Way This Week
For those in need of a distraction this week, we here at MickeyBlog have got you covered. This is a good week for TV viewing when it comes to Disney and it’s affiliates. There’s a much anticipated Marvel premiere, a network premiere on FX, a beloved favorite returns to the Disney Channel as well as a series premiere.
So get ready to set those DVR’s because each of the five programs on our list is simply not-to-be-missed!
Widows—Tuesday, January 12, at 7 p.m. ET on FX
Debuting on FX is this story of four women with seemingly little in common apart from the criminal activities of their late husbands. This new series is directed by Steve McQueen who co-wrote with Gillian Flynn. The action is set in Chicago and follows Veronica (Viola Davis), Linda (Michelle Rodriguez), Alice (Elizabeth Debicki) and Belle (Cynthia Erivo) who decided to take things into their own hands by trying out a heist of their very own. Don’t miss the premiere TOMORROW (Tuesday, January 12) at 7PM on FX.
Murder on the Orient Express—Friday, January 15, at 5:20 p.m. ET on FXM
Kenneth Branagh steps into the role of Hercule Poirot in this film based on the 1934 Agatha Christie novel of the same name. When an avalanche stops the Orient Express enroute, Poirot must interrogate passengers and search for clues in the hunt for a deadly killer. Directed by Branagh the films boasts an incredible ensemble cast including Lucy Boynton, Olivia Colman, Penelope Cruz, William Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Derek Jacobi, Leslie Odom, Michelle Pfeiffer and Daisy Ridley.
BUNK’D—Friday, January 15, at 7:30 p.m. ET on Disney Channel
It’s time for season five of Bunk’d which returns to Disney Channel on Friday (January 15). In the episode “Lou’s Still The Boss, but Now There’s a Ross), camp director Lou (Miranda May) along with camp counselors Ava (Shelby Simmons) and Noah (Israel Johnson) along with campers Destiny (Mallory James Mahoney), Matteo (Raphael Alejandro) and Finn (Will Bule Jr.) are delighted when Emma (marking the return of Peyton List) pays a surprise to Camp Kikiwaka during a break from being a fabulous fashion designer in Milan. When a viral video and speculation of a haunted cabin ruin their season at camp?
Secrets of Sulphur Springs—Friday, January 15, at 8 p.m. ET on Disney Channel
Disney Channel is getting it’s first ever time-travel mystery series on Friday! Griffin (Preston Oliver) has recently moved to Louisiana with his family. His dad plans to restore and reopen The Tremont, a neglected old hotel. Ghost stories abound with rumors that the property is haunted by a ghost of a girl named Savannah (Ellie Graham) who disappeared 30 years ago. Griffin, while exploring the property along with his friend Harper (Kyliegh Curran) discovers a secret portal that gives them the ability to travel back in time. Can they find clues to help them solve the hotel’s mystery?
WandaVision—Friday, January 15, on Disney+
Friday also marks the moment we’ve all been waiting for with the premiere of Marvel’s first series on Disney+ – WandaVision! Promising to bring as new kind of “reality” TV, the series follows the “seemingly” ordinary lives of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany), two super-powered beings who are living out a suburban fantasy. However, they quickly find that things are not as they seem. Taking place over nine visionary episodes director Matt Shakman and head writer Jac Schaeffer create an experience unlike anything you’ve seen before. The show also stars Kat Dennings, Kathryn Hahn, Randall Park and Teyonah Parris. The first two episodes will premiere on Friday with episode three following on January 22nd.
