‘The Mandalorian’ Takes Home Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Series at Critics Choice Super Awards
Star Wars live-action series, The Mandalorian, is no stranger to accolades, accomplishments, and critical acclaim.
As if this needed further confirmation, the Disney+ title has just earned Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Series at the immaturely 2021 Critics Choice Super Awards.
This was no easy category for the MCU architect and showrunner Jon Favreau and his Lucasarts team.
The Mandalorian bested widely acclaimed series such as The Outlander, Raised By Wolves, Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, Upload, and What We Do In The Shadows.
The award is greatly warranted to most Disney+ subscribers, as the adventures of the show’s title character have earned adoration from all corners of Star Wars fandom, and even bringing in new fans to the galaxy.
The series has engrained itself into pop culture and reinvigorated the limitlessness of a galaxy far far away- scrolling social media on episode release days will tell you this alone.
The adventures of Din Jarin, his child accomplice Grogu, and their interactions with galaxies new and old have been a welcome escape during a challenging year for many, to say the least.
The series has introduced new friend and foe, while also welcoming beloved characters from Star Wars stories long adored.
The Mandalorian success has Spawned a universe of live-action Star Wars series, with upcoming projects including Star Wars: Rangers of the Republic and Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
This accolade most certainly affirming Disney’s faith in this ever-growing universe, and it doesn’t seem to be wavering anytime soon.
Disney+ viewers can watch all two seasons of The Mandalorian currently streaming on the platform, with season three slated for a Christmas 2022 release.
