Robo Carts Now Available at Disney World’s Golf Courses
Boy do we have something interesting to share with you on this Sunday morning! Walt Disney World has just introduced a new bit of tech to their golf courses that is sure to delight visitors – Robo-Carts!
These small robotic golf carts use a GPS system along with Bluetooth technology to transport your golf clubs safely around Disney’s golf courses! Check out the clip below showing this awesome innovation at work:
According to Disney, all golfers need to do is clip the transmitter on your person, load your golf bag at each whole and then the cart follows just a few paces behind wherever you head next! The cart which moves approximately 7 mph will stop when you stop and move when you move making it a fun, functional and space-aged sidekick.
The only caution when using this new buddy on the course is that you need to be careful when using the robo-cart near waterways and bridges. But thankfully Disney is pleased with the accuracy of these new course companions and says they’ve not yet had instances of golfers leading these robots astray.
The Robo-Carts are the creation of Club Car and they also come equipped with some hand amenities including beverage coolers, a cup holder, sand bottle and even a USB port so you can charge your phone while you play. The front of the cart also features a GPS screen that tracks your yardage information.
Disney World now has the distinction of being one of only a few courses in Florida where you’ll find this innovative bit of tech. You’ll find it so handy to use them on Disney’s Oak trail golf-course which is a 9-hole walking course specifically designed for families and young golfers. You can also find them at the 18-hold Magnolia and Palm championship courses.
There is an extra charge to use the Robo-Carts. The fee is currently $10 in addition to your green fees. You can visit Disney Golf website to learn more.
If you’re planning on hitting up one of Disney’s incredible golf courses over the busy weekends you can book you can book in advance. If you book at least 6-days out, Disney will even throw in a 10% discount on your green fees ($49 plus tax) as part of a new “Early Bird” booking program when your tee time is booked for before 11:30am.
Just book your tee time at www.golfwdw.com and ask about Disney’s Early Bird program, or rent a Robo-Cart when you check in at the clubhouse.
