Disney Museum: Best Of Happily Ever After Hours
Enjoy The Walt Disney Family Museum Online Via Happily Ever After Hours…
One of my favorite discoveries of 2020 remains the The Walt Disney Family Museum. No, I didn’t actually get there. But their online presence lent a kind of “One Man’s Dream” quality to my Internet meanderings during lockdown.
And this week, the museum is marking its own “Best of…” for the year, with two new (thus far) content compilations for your enjoyment.
First up, a look back at the animated Beauty and the Beast.
Happily Ever After Hours Best of 2020: Making Beauty and the Beast (1991)
This year we introduced a new virtual series—Happily Ever After Hours—which featured directors, animators, screenwriters, actors, and many other creatives from the world of animation. We’ve had so much fun sharing these interactive interviews with you during our closure and are looking back on some of our favorite moments from 2020. Throughout the series, we spoke to many people who were part of making Beauty and the Beast (1991). What was your favorite moment?
Then they tackled a somewhat under-covered side of animation: voice actors!
Best of 2020: Voice Acting
[The museum also] spoke with many voice actors who shared their favorite stories from lending their voices to some of the world’s most famous characters.
This series is ongoing and an extensive archive is available to members.
Of Happily Ever After Hours, WaltDisney.org explained:
- In keeping with our mission, The Walt Disney Family Museum is finding new and unique ways to connect to our audience virtually. We are thrilled to announce our new Happily Ever After Hours virtual series with Disney luminaries, including animators, artists, directors, and Imagineers, who will discuss their careers and connections to Walt’s story.
- Hosted via Zoom webinar, audience members will have the opportunity to submit questions to our special guests in advance and watch them answered live. Grab a refreshment and hear from some of your favorite Disney personalities from the comfort of your home… Attendees are invited to submit questions in advance to be asked during the Q&A.
- Due to anticipated demand and limited Q&A time, not all submitted questions will be answered. All participants must sign up by noon Pacific Time on the day prior to the event. Participants must have a Zoom account to attend the workshop. A link to the workshop and instructions for joining will be sent before the event.
