When Will Christmas Decorations Come Down At Walt Disney World!?
I know, I know, we are barely through Christmas Day and already we’re talking about Christmas decorations coming down. However, for many families planning an early 2021 visit to Walt Disney World this is a legitimate question! Christmas is such a magical time to visit Walt Disney World that many visitors hope to beat the crowds but still enjoy some of the magic by planning a visit in the new year.
That’s why it shouldn’t be surprising that a question I’m getting asked a lot right now is when exactly the trees and all the trimmings will come down at Walt Disney World. The long and short of it is that it depends on where you visit each area of Disney World will have its own timeline. However, typically most of the garlands, wreaths and lights have come down within the first week of January.
For guests arriving near the end of December you may still be able to enjoy the last vestiges of Christmas. However, the same Christmas elves that work tirelessly on October 31st to make that seamless transition from Halloween to Christmas are at work just on the other side of the new year to transition the parks once again.
Visitors in earlyJanuary can expect a dwindling of decorations each night with things being pretty much back to normal by the 7th or 8th of January. This may vary between the theme parks, resorts and Disney Springs. However, if you won’t be heading to Disney World until mid-January you can expect the decorations to be down as Disney World gets ready for its 2021 50th Anniversary Celebration.
