Pixar’s New Short Film ‘Burrow’ Makes Its Debut Today
With all of the emphasis put on today’s premiere of Pixar’s latest feature film Soul, we here at MickeyBlog don’t want you to forget about the little guy- in this case the short film Burrow which is premiering on Disney+! The film, which was originally slated to be screened before Soul at the cinemas is now part of Pixar’s incredible SparkShorts series.
We first found about about this new project back in September when Walt Disney Studios took to Facebook to share a first look with us:
Home is where the hare is. 🐰🏠 See the new Pixar SparkShort BURROW, directed by Madeline Sharafian, in theaters before Soul on November 20. #InternationalRabbitDay

At that time, little was known about the short as it appeared with a simple caption: “Home is where the hare is. See the new Pixar SparkShort BURROW, directed by Madeline Sharafian, in theaters before Soul on November 20.” Now we know a wee bit more thanks to a teaser Walt Disney Studios released on Christmas Eve:
Every bunny’s talking about Burrow, Pixar’s newest short! 🐰 Check out a sneak peek now and stream the short tomorrow on #DisneyPlus. pic.twitter.com/aRVojP0KaE

As you can see from the video above, the short features the more tradition hand-drawn 2D Animation. We also know that the short follows a young rabbit on a journey to dig the burrow of her dreams even though she has no idea what she’s doing. Rather then let her neighbors know that she’s in over her head, she digs herself deeper and deeper into trouble. When she hits (bed)rock bottom, she learns that there’s no shame in asking for help.
We hope you’ll take some time out of your busy holiday weekend to check out Burrow on Disney+.
For those unfamiliar, SparkShorts are smaller, more independent and boundary pushing short films from Pixar Studios. Though Pixar’s incredible feature films are not to be overlooked, the SparkShorts represent some of the company’s best work. Thankfully most of the previously released shorts have a home on Disney+ and we also recommend that you check them out!
