BREAKING NEWS: Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs is Open!
It’s a sweet day at Disney Springs! Gideon’s Bakehouse opened for the first time this morning and our MickeyBloggers were there!
The popular Orlando-based bakery has been serving up handcrafted specialty “cookies, cakes and curiosities” since 1898. Gideon’s Bakehouse is famous for their “almost half-pound” cookies and their uniquely-themed Limited Edition drinks and desserts throughout the year.
Soft Opening
Today is a “soft opening” for the bakery, but that didn’t stop an excited line from forming early this morning outside the bookstore-themed building.

A Grand Opening is expected some time in 2021.
We were fortunate enough to meet Gideon’s owner and creator Steve Lewis, who snapped a picture with our blogger Greg!
Menu Preview
Menus were handed out early for browsing.
The popular Gideon’s menu changes frequently as the handmade offerings are seasonal and limited!
The current cozy menu features holiday offerings such as Santa’s White Christmas Cookie and Ginger Snap Cold Brew.
Daily limited edition items are shared on Gideon’s Instagram page daily. The full menu can be found on the Disney Springs website.
Menu offerings were given a special magical makeover for the new Disney Springs location. The previously seasonal Coffee Cake Cookie will be on sale every morning. A daily Hot Cookie Hour will satisfy that sweet tooth after dinner each night!
Unique Style
The vintage theming of the storefront carries inside of the Bakehouse.
Dark lighting, antique chandeliers, and walls and walls of books set a Haunted Mansion-esque tone around the cookie displays.
Haunting drawings and signs line the walls. Gideon’s Bakehouse was named after creator Lewis found curious doodles in the pages of an old cookbook with the name Gideon signed in the back. The vintage book store theming was born from the unique drawings and the name.
Current Delicious Offerings
Gideon’s seasonal menu does not disappoint! Our bloggers sampled each handmade cookie, a piece of pie and a Peanut Butter cold brew. There were zero complaints as everything was delectable!
The famous giant cookies take over 24 hours to make from scratch but they are well worth it!

They don’t just taste great, they are gorgeous creations!
Gideon’s At Home
If you can’t make it to a Gideon’s Bakehouse location near you, you can still bring the experience home. Gideon’s offers a signature merchandise line available online or in-store. The line includes a Coffee Cake Cookie Candle to make your house smell divine!
Pin collectors may also fancy a Gideon’s pin, featuring a play on the the signature gargoyle overlooking the building.
