Construction Update on Tron Lightcycle Coaster
When we last updated you on construction of the Tron Lightcycle Power Run coaster in Magic Kingdom, the brown supports for the canopy were the most visible feature across the skyline.
That’s no longer the case! Look at the construction progress our MickeyBlogger captured from the Tomorrowland Speedway this afternoon!
Canopy Takes Shape
The ride’s signature white canopy is really taking on its notable “curved wave” shape now.
You can see the giant cranes placing some of the nearly 40 huge pieces of this structure. We still can’t get over the massive size and scale of this new Tomorrowland attraction!
When the completed canopy, known as the Upload Conduit, is complete, the brown support structural supports will be removed and the futuristic look will really come to life.
Ride Concept

This new ride is a replica of the Tron coaster in Disneyland Paris. Guests will race under the Conduit on their Lightcycles on the computerized Grid of Life in both indoor and outdoor track segments. The two-wheeled Lightcycles are similar to the ride vehicles on the Avatar: Flight of Passage ride in Animal Kingdom, but these “bikes” will launch riders close to 60mph, the fastest roller coaster in Disney Parks history!
The Tron Lightcycle Power Run coaster is set to open in 2021 but no opening date has been announced.
