Upcoming Disney+ Line-Up To Be Revealed This Week Here’s How You Can Tune-In
During 2020, The Walt Disney Company’s saving grace has been the success of their streaming network Disney+ which currently sits at about 73.7 million subscribers. This is one of the few accomplishments Disney has been able to celebrate in a year that has given us theme parks shut downs due to COVID-19 and massive layoffs happening throughout the company.
During Disney’s most recent quarterly earnings call in October, the company was open about their plans to restructure operations with an emphasis on streaming which means there should be lots of good things coming to the network in 2021 and beyond. A similar earnings call happening this week should shed some light on what’s in the pipeline.
We already know about some of the bigger projects coming your way in 2021. This includes Marvel’s arrival at Disney+ starting with WandaVision and eventually including The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, She-Hulk and Loki. We also know that an Obi-Wan Kenobi series is in the works and that The Mandalorian will continue to be a cornerstone of the Disney+ brand.
But what else is there? According to a recent piece in CNET, Bob Chapek has hinted that the company is soon to reveal more big movie releases like Mulan that will be coming to the network. Could we finally see Marvel’s Black Widow go straight to streaming? This might be the week we find out!
We should get some Disney+ insights on Thursday (December 10th) at 1:30pm PT. This is during the Walt Disney Company’s investors call which will cover the Disney+ streaming service as well as Hulu and ESPN Plus.
As with most Investor Calls, Disney does give the option for those interested to listen in. However, it should be noted that some information may be redacted and only revealed exclusively to investors. It should also be noted that, like any investor’s call there will be a HEAVY emphasis on financials, losses and projected growth. However, having listened in on several of these I can also tell you that Disney also uses it as an opportunity to wow investors with upcoming projects.
So what can we expect?
I’ve already spoken above about Disney potentially using the call to announce some additional movie titles that will debut on the network. As we’ve previously reported here at MickeyBlog, there’s also been murmurings that Disney may be looking to fold Hulu into Disney+ and Thursday might shed some light on this possibility.
Those tuning in might also get new info on upcoming projects that are in production via teasers, trailers and sneak peeks.
How do I access the event?
As we mentioned above, the investor day presentation will take place on Thursday (December 10) at 1:30 p.m. PT / 4:30 p.m. ET. The livestream will become available to access at 12:30 p.m. PT / 3:30 p.m. ET, one hour before the presentation is supposed to start. In our past experience its always good to log in a bit early just to sort out any streaming problems. You can access the livestream here.
Tune in if you can and if not, be sure to follow along with MickeyBlog where we’ll post breaking news of any of the important details that come out of the call!
