Construction Work Begins on Rivers of America Waterway
Last month, we brought you the news of the seasonal draining and closure of Rivers of America in Magic Kingdom.
With the Liberty Belle in dry dock and Tom Sawyer Island under refurbishment, the Rivers of America have been very quiet the past few weeks.
Just today though, I spotted a construction crew hard at work on the Liberty Belle track!
It seems to be receiving some new concrete posts and some new track pieces. You can see the pink construction ribbons in place on the track!
The crew was also working on the river bed itself, smoothing new dirt over the areas next to the boat track. The Liberty Belle normally runs every 30 minutes, so that track certainly deserves some TLC after all that usage!
The construction crew was also installing some overhead work lights, signifying to me that this is a bigger project than it appears. Crews will clearly be working in the dark- and possibly overnight- to finish this refurbishment in time.
I for one can’t wait to see what changes may come from this construction. Do you think any major changes will be made to Rivers of America? Leave me a comment and let me know!
