The current line connects Miami to West Palm Beach, and eventually to Orlando in the expansion totaling $2.4 billion. Goddard is excited for the stop in Central Florida, stating that it will eventually connect to the west coast of Florida.
Goddard spoke about the potential of a stop in Cocoa, saying “Cocoa and the Space Coast generally is experiencing pretty significant growth and attention as the space industry starts to take off,”.

The expansion across the state of Florida will “dramatically change the face of our transportation network for decades to come,” Goddard says, carrying on to say “This is a very diverse market and it is a perfect market for intercity passenger rail,”.
Currently, no timeline has been set for the expansion to Tampa and the west coast of Florida. The expansion to Orlando International Airport and Disney Springs is set to be completed in 2022.
