VIDEO: Disney on Broadway Cast Members Reunite for Rousing Version of “Let It Go”
Over the past year, we’ve seen Disney on Broadway productions struggle under the news that New York City has made the decision to keep Broadway theaters closed well into next year due to COVID-19. Disney’s incredible productions including Aladdin, The Lion King and Frozen closed in March and The Great White Way has been dark ever since.
Shortly after Disney announced that Frozen would not be staying the course. The Broadway production would be closed for good and the set pieces and costumes would be divvied up among the popular touring productions.
That’s a lot of bad news for Disney on Broadway which is why one of the moments that we’ve most been looking forward to during tonight’s Disney Holiday Singalong on ABC was the opportunity to see the cast members of Aladdin, The Lion King and the North American Touring companies of Frozen return to the New Amsterdam theater in New York for an emotional rendition of “Let It Go.”
If you missed tonight’s singalong you can check out the performance here:
This was definitely one of the most touching moments of the evening and we couldn’t help but have an emotional singalong.
At the moment it looks as if Broadway theaters will stay shuttered through May of 2021. However, this is a story that we here at MickeyBlog will continue to follow closely. Readers are encouraged to keep checking in with us for further Walt Disney World news and updates!
