New Updates On EPCOT’s Soon-To-Be Newest Attraction “Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind”
Work continues on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, the awesome and out-of-this-world new coaster experience coming to what will soon be known as World Discovery. Fresh from the D23 video tonight, Disney just recently put a few of the attraction’s vehicles on the track for initial “push/pull” testing. When it’s ready, this is going to be a great adventure for families to take together.

Progress is coming right along with the construction of the exciting new attraction. It looks as though the ride vehicles are being assembled onto the tracks. According to Imagineer Zach Riddley, the ride vehicles are now being put through push-pull tests, where each vehicle is pulled through the entirety of the track. It’s so exciting!

The Omnicoaster is a first- of-its-kind programmable roller coaster ride system, where guests can be rotated along the ride track in any direction while traveling at high speeds. The Omnicoaster name builds upon the tradition of the Omnimover ride system in which Walt Disney Imagineers are able to turn guests in any direction and focus their attention on a specific scene or element.

At Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind the adventure will start in the “Galaxarium,” a planetarium-like exhibition that explores the similarities and mysteries of the formation of Earth’s galaxy and Xandar. You’ll be invited to learn more about Xandar’s treasures – until the moment when the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive, and adventures across the cosmos ensue.
