Indiana Jones Returns: Indy V Has A Shooting Start Date
Report: Indiana Jones V Production Begins in August 2021
Da da da daaaaaah, da da daaa. Is there a more iconic (non-Star Wars) musical movie theme stanza?
Nope.
Anyway, we are here in 2020 and hearing that Indy will indeed ride again.
Hopefully, this shooting start date sticks. But Indiana Jones has (another) production target.
Indiana Jones Returns
Yesterday, Skyler Shuler of The DisInsder.com posted:

A fifth installment of the Indiana Jones franchise has been in development for quite some time, going through multiple writers and directors. Well, now Lucasfilm will look to get the film in front of cameras next year.
The studio has set an August 2021 production start for the Harrison Ford-led film. The newest Indiana Jones feature will shoot at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom.
The film was originally expected to start filming earlier this year until the coronavirus halted those plans, causing the studio to pump the breaks.
Logan director James Mangold will direct, who took over the job from Steven Spielberg (Jaws) at the beginning of the year. Spielberg is still aboard the project as an executive producer. Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will produce for Lucasfilm, and legendary composer John Williams will return to score.

Looking Back
We trust Shuler, so optimism remains high.
However, we’ve posted several stories stating that Dr. Jones will ride again, including:
‘Indiana Jones 5’ Could Start Production Sooner Than You Think!
However, as Indiana Jones fans, we’re pretty excited, today.
“Fortune and glory, kid…”
This new project is helmed by Mangold, who — in Logan — may have made one of the finest superhero movies ever filmed; imagine another Indy movie with the heart and soul of Logan (hopefully minus the ending).
Ready To Rock?
But, looking back at some Harrison Ford coverage from last February, perhaps Indy, himself, was prophetic.
“I don’t really want to give them what they want to see, I want to give them something they didn’t anticipate,” said Harrison. “They are used to a degree of disappointment when you revisit. Certainly, the Marvel movies have made a spectacular example of a success that worked the other way around, they killed it!
“We’re not going to make another Indiana Jones unless we are in a position to kill it. We want it to be the best,” he said.
Mangold’s Logan, of course, is (technically) a Marvel movie and maybe Harrison Ford and Co. are finally ready to go.
