Our First Look Inside the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Coaster Coming to EPCOT
Some exciting news has been coming out of this morning’s virtual IAAPA Expo! Josh D’Amaro; Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products; gave us our first look inside actual cabins coming to the much-anticipated Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Hotel at Walt Disney World. D’Amaro has also just given us our first look inside the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Coaster coming to EPCOT!
DLPReport on Twitter shared the image with us which gives us our first look on the progress of the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Coaster.

As you can see, the track for the Coaster looks to be mostly installed. The queue for the attraction will be located in the old Universe of Energy Pavilion. However, the actual ride will be housed in an all-new show building that is 12 stories high.
Once complete, the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Coaster will offer a reverse launch and one-of-a-kind ride vehicles that will actually be able to turn and spin and place Guests right in the middle of all the action as they travel through the cosmos.

Like many other Disney Parks projects, construction was delayed on the Coaster with the extended COVID-19 closure. However, construction on the attraction has since resumed and we are optimistic it will begin welcoming Guests in 2021 – hopefully before Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary on October 1, 2021.
