Baby Yoda Is Officially In Space with Crew-1
Did you watch the live stream of the Space-X crew, called Crew-1, that launched last night into space traveling to the International Space Station? It’s a historical event! This travel to space marks the first official crew rotation flight to the International Space Station by a US commercial spacecraft. You can see the launch below.
SpaceX secured its Crew Dragon spaceship to the top of a Falcon 9 rocket and roared into outer space. The crew consists of NASA astronauts Mike Hopkins, Victor Glover, and Shannon Walker, as well as Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Soichi Noguchi.
In an interview last week, the Crew-1 astronauts on the Crew Dragon Resilience told reporters that they had picked a “zero gravity indicator” and that it would be pretty obvious what it was when the public saw it. Astronauts typically use a toy that acts as a visual cue to show when the crew is experiencing weightlessness.
When the cameras inside the Resilience spacecraft were switched on, there it was: The Child, AKA Baby Yoda, from The Mandalorian.
The eight-episode season of The Mandalorian premiered on the streaming service Disney+ on October 30, 2020. A third season was confirmed in April 2020.
