Are Disney Characters Having Their Day In Court?
Earlier this year at the start of the COVID-19 crisis, we here at MickeyBlog shared with you that stimulus checks were accidentally sent out to Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney as these names were being used as placeholders in a government database! It seems government officials weren’t the only ones!
The MetroUK ran a piece yesterday showing now viral images of the schedule at the Stoke Crown Court today. It would seem when looking at the schedule, that Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Sleeping Beauty, Tinker Bell, Snow White, Cruella de Vil and Buzz Lightyear are all set to appear in court today!
A Twitter user in the area said that Disney characters have been appearing on the schedule all week and are obviously placeholders. The surprise cameos were spotted by a local lawyer Leisha Bond who posted images of the schedule (see below) and said jokingly, ‘Is it someone’s last day?’
According to the piece in the Metro, HM Courts later apologized for leaving the Disney characters on the roster saying that this was do to a few hiccups during a system upgrade!

In a tweet, the HM Courts & Tribunals Service said: ‘Sorry for the error – we’ve been testing a new upgrade to our case management system and the names were created as test cases but should have been deleted before the lists were issued/published. Our local team has updated the final list online, removing the test names/cases.’
A spokesman for the Crown Prosecution Service hilariously confirmed: ‘We haven’t wasted any time pursuing Bugs Bunny, Cruella Deville, Daphne Duck or Buzz Lightyear.’
