BREAKING NEWS: Sean Connery Has Passed Away At The Age Of 90
It is with a heavy heart that we here at MickeyBlog share the news that acting legend Sean Connery has passed away at the age of 90.
The Scottish actor is best known for his role as James Bond but had an amazing career that spanned nearly 5 decades including films like The Untouchables for which he won an Oscar.
Sir Connery’s family said that the actor passed peacefully in his sleep while in the Bahamas. According to the BBC his son reported that he had been unwell for some time.
Other career highlights for Connery include The Hunt for Red October, Highlander and The Rock.
Disney fans know Connery for his role as Indiana Jones’ father in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Rumor has it that Connery passed on the fourth instalment of the film as he felt that the role wasn’t big enough.
As DisneyWiki tells us, Connery also starred in Disney’s 1959 film Darby O’Gill and the Little People. This spooky film about leprechauns is known as the one that gave Sean Connery his big break.
Jason, Connery’s son said that his father “had many of his family who could be in the Bahamas around him” when he died overnight in Nassau. He continued, “We are all working at understanding this huge event as it only happened so recently, even though my dad has been unwell for some time.
Sir Connery was born in Edinburgh and made his debut as James Bond in 1962’s Dr. No. He went on to appear in five other official films. Many James Bond superfans consider him to be the best actor who played 007. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 2000 and celebrated his 90th birthday this past August.
