5 Reasons Why We Love All-Star Movies Resort

If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog you’ll know that recently we shared the exciting news that as part of the gradual re-opening of Walt Disney World, the first All-Star Resort will reopen in February! All-Star Movies will once again be welcoming guests beginning on February 9, 2021 and we couldn’t be more excited.  

All-Star Movies has long been on of our go-to value properties and is a great budget-friendly way to approach a visit to Walt Disney World.  If you’re thinking about a theme park visit next year and want a stay that is filled with Disney magic but that won’t break the bank this is the resort for you! But for those that may need further convincing, here are a handful of reasons why we love it so! 

Fantasia Swimming Pool

One of the compromises you make when choosing a Value Resort is that you don’t get a water slide.  However, it’s easy to forget about that when taking the plunge at the Fantasia-themed central swimming pool at All-Star Movies! This pool is a favorite with my family primarily due to the playful Sorcerer Mickey fountain at the center! 

The area also features a smaller kiddie pool and water play area for the tiny tots. It’s also located in the Fantasia section of the resort so neighboring buildings feature dancing brooms, towering ballerinas, and more which really adds to the ambiance. 

The resort does have a second pool area inspired by the film The Mighty Docks and is perfect for sports lovers with a hockey theme that can be found in delightful little (AND BIG) details! 

Newly Renovated Rooms 

All of the guest rooms at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort were recently renovated and are brimming with awesome features and amenities.  Upgrades include new hard flooring throughout. The resort also moved away from its two double bed layout and now offers one queen size bed as well as a dining room table that folds out into another queen-sized bed.  This makes it perfect for families of four who like some space to move around during the day! Kids also love the fun artwork found inside the headboard of the pull-down bed.  As you can see from the image above it features Huey Dewey and Louie having some sweet dreams!

All rooms also come with a Coffee Maker, Large Screen TV and separate rooms for sink and shower making getting ready in the morning a breeze!

Toy Story Section 

You can’t go wrong with any of the fantastic sections of All-Star Movies Resort. However, if there’s one that has a special place in my heart it’s the Toy Story Section.  From the moment you walk past the door that says Andy’s Room, you know you’ve entered someplace truly special.  From the towering Woody figures to the green army men on the roof this area does make you feel fully immersed in the Pixar magic! If a visit to Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios is high on your family’s priority list then why not book a stay in one of the preferred rooms here and make it a whole Toy Story themed getaway!? 

Prices That Scrooge McDuck Would Love

Though you certainly won’t need to skimp when it comes to theming and awesome amenities, as a Value Resort, All Star Movies is one of the most affordable properties at Walt Disney World Resort.  Rooms typically start in the $160 per night range and discounts are usually available!

Dining, Recreation and More! 

All Star Movies is home to the World Premiere Food Court where guests can choose from 5 serving stations featuring family friendly eats and treats for breakfast, lunch and dinner including pizza, pastas, grill items, bakery items, ice cream and more!  The resort even offers late night pizza delivery which hits the spot after a long day at the theme parks. 

Speaking of theme parks, each of Disney’s four theme parks, two water parks and Disney Springs (Disney’s downtown shopping district) are just a short ride away via the complimentary Walt Disney World Resort Bus.  You can also get to and from Orlando International Airport free of charge with Disney’s complimentary Magical Express service. 

Other noteworthy treats you’ll find at All Star Movies includes “Movies Under the Stars,” scenic jogging trails, a playground and an arcade. There’s even a gift shop where you can stock up on some pretty awesome Disney goodies!
