Latest Disney Film To Get The Live Action Treatment – Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers

It’s been a while since we came to you with news about a live-action Disney remake so here’s one for you! According to a recent piece on DisInsider (and they are usually spot on with this type of news) Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers is next in line for the live-action treatment.

According to the piece, Disney is working on a live-action/CGI hybrid will begin filming in the Spring of 2021. Reports also suggest that the film will be going straight to Disney+ and that the original voice cast from the Rescue Rangers team including Tress MacNeille as Chip and Gadget, Corey Burton as Dale and Zipper and Jim Cummings as Monterey Jack are all slated to return for the project!

The film will reportedly be directed by Akiva Schaffer (Hot Rod and Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping) with David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman (The Muppets) to produce.

Little has been revealed regarding the plot. However we do know that the script was being written by Dan Gregor and Doug Man of How I Met Your Mother fame.

As anyone who grew up in the 80s will tell you the original Rescue Rangers series was produced by Disney Television Animation and made its debut March 4, 1989. It followed Chip and Dale who start a detective agency with a bit of help from their friends Gadget Hackwrench, Monterrey Jack, and Zipper. The arch villains from the show were Fat Cat and scientist Norton Nimnul.
