UPDATE: Construction Work Continues at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Our MickeyBlogger is on the scene at Walt Disney World again today where we captured a few more images of the big refurbishment coming to the Great Ceremonial House at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
The big yellow crane we shared in last week’s images is still in place and the large wooden beams on top of the Poly’s Ceremonial House are being removed.
Though the majority of changes are taking place to the Ceremonial House, the building will STILL remain open to guests and you’ll still go here to check-in/out during your stay at the Poly.
Among the changes to the building will get a brand new porte cochere that has been designed to showcase the property’s iconic mid-20th century architecture.
The monorail station (which you can see above) will include bold new wooden screens that have been covered with geometric patterns in bright, tropical colors forming a vibrant and artistic new composition that will greet you when you arrive.
Changes will also be made to the entryway including dramatic new lighting elements.
A focal point of the renovations to the Ceremonial House will be all-new chandeliers inspired by glass floats, fishing nets and oversized bamboo elements.
Guests staying on property during the refurbishment must rely on alternate transportation when getting to and from the Magic Kingdom.
In addition to work in the main building at the Poly, upgrades are also being made to the guest rooms.
Disney will even use the renovation to pay tribute to Moana.
There are plans to add elements from the film to the guest rooms to add a little bit of extra theming and tie the property into the magical world of Disney films.
We will continue to follow the renovation closely. Readers are encouraged to keep checking in with use each and every week for further news and updates!
