Two Disneyland Stage Shows Won’t Be Returning
This is a time of such HUGE changes at Disney theme parks. If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog, you know that Disneyland theme parks in California have yet to reopen and there is no opening date in sight. You’ll also know that Disney recently made the decision to let 28,000 employees go across it’s domestic theme parks.
With all of this in mind, cuts are inevitable. We’ve already seen a few casualties at Walt Disney World. We’ve previously reported that Yeeha Bob and The Grand Floridian Society Orchestra will not be returning to entertain guests. Today, according to a few tweets, it would appear that on the West Coast, Disney has given the axe to two incredible products that we’ll be sad to see go.
My heart is heavy.
As part of the layoffs and the extended closure of Disneyland Park, two great shows are shutting down. Mickey and the Magical Map and Frozen: Live at the Hyperion are but a distant memory now.

As you can see from the tweet above, Cast Members are reportedly being notified that two popular shows won’t be reopening, The first is Mickey and the Magical Map at Disneyland and the other Frozen: Live at the Hyperion at Disney California Adventure.
For those that never had a chance to see it, Mickey and the Magical Map, this 22 minute show took place in Fantasyland and followed Mickey who has been left alone with an enchanted map. The show featured many familiar Disney friends including King Louie from The Jungle Book, Pocahontas, Mulan, Rapunzel and Tiana.
Frozen: Live at the Hyperion was a 1 hour long dazzling theatrical interpretation of the smash-hit animated film which follows Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Sven and Olaf as they performed unforgettable songs made famous by the films.
As of going to print, the closers have not been officially confirmed by Disneyland and both shows are still listed on the website. However, this is a show that we’ll continue to follow closely so keep checking in with us for further notes and updates!
