TGIF Disney friends! For those in the mood for something spook-tacular this weekend, Disney has some awesome programs across their eclectic array of networks that you won’t want to miss. From Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween to a Tim Burton Halloween classic, we’ve got you covered. So set those DVRs, pop that popcorn and let’s have a family movie night.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader—Friday, October 9, on Disney+
The fantasy continues as Eustace (Will Poulter) along with Lucy (Georgie Henley) and Edmund (Skandar Keynes) are transported through a painting into a magical land. Here they reunite with trusted ally King Caspian (Ben Barnes) and join him on his epic quest to locate the seven lost Lords of Telmar as they’re swords have the power to protect Narnia from an ominous green mist.
Twitches—Sunday, October 11, at 9:50 p.m. ET on Freeform
This is a Halloween favorite in my household and is inspired by the best selling book series. This magical tale centers on twin witches who were born on Halloween night but separated at birth. However on their 21st birthday, Alex/Artemis (Tia Mowry) and Camryn/Apolla (Tamera Mowry) are reunited by fate and discover that their powers increase twofold when they work together! Combined they find themselves squaring off against a threatening evil entity know simply as “The Darkness.”
Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom—Friday, October 9, on Disney+
If you’ve yet to tune into this Disney+ documentary focusing on the incredible wild inhabitants that call Disney’s Animal Kingdom home then you don’t know what your missing. A brand new episode debuts TODAY on Disney+. Titled Betty and the Beast, Hartmann’s mountain zebras arrive on the Animal Kingdom savanna for the first time! Now, its up to the keepers to help them acclimate. Viewers will also follow along with a babirusa pig named Betty who has been introduced to a possible beau named Mentari in the hopes that they could give the park their first ever babirusa piglet! Last but not least we head over to EPCOT where at The Seas With Nemo & Friends a 1,800 manatee named Lou might have an infection on his tail. It’s up to the keepers to crane lift him out of the aquarium so that he can have a CT scan.
Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas—Sunday, October 11, at 1:50 p.m. ET on Freeform
What’s this? What’s this? It wouldn’t be Halloween without this story about Jack Skellington (Chris Sarandon) the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town. Getting bored of his role, Jack accidentally stumbles upon the door to Christmas Town where he decides that HE would be the perfect candidate to take over Santa’s job. But kidnapping Santa proves not to be a very good idea and becomes the stuff of nightmares for boys and girls everywhere.
Disney Fam Jam—Friday, October 9, at 8:25 p.m. ET on Disney Channel
This week’s episode of the family dance-off is aptly titled “Trick or Treat Yo Self.” Things get a bit spooky this week when the Gandia and Devers families compete for a $10,000 cash prize ad the coveted Disney Famy Jam Trophy. Ariel Martin and Trevor Tordjman host this family dance competition along with help from choreographer Phil Wright who helps the families conjure up some wicked dance moves.
