Cruella: More Details About The Movie Emerge
As I said in September of 2019, “Speaking of ‘a sudden chill,’ all of this looks downright cool.”
But here in 2020, we’ve been waiting for more from the production of Cruella for some time.
However, today, one of our favorites — Skyler Shuler of The DisInsider — weighed in with some details.

We are still several months away from the release of Disney’s 101 Dalmatian spinoff Cruella, centered on the classic Walt Disney villain.
While details on the project have been kept under wraps, a new description of the film has emerged, giving us some information about the film.
Take a look below:
Before she becomes Cruella de Vil?
Teenaged Estella has a dream. She wishes to become a fashion designer, having been gifted with talent, innovation, and ambition all in equal measures. But life seems intent on making sure her dreams never come true. Having wound up penniless and orphaned in London at twelve, four years later Estella runs wild through the city streets with her best friends and partners-in-(petty)-crime, Horace and Jasper, two amateur thieves…
I don’t want to steal Skyler’s thunder, so be sure to go over to TheDisInsider.com for the full story synopsis.
Skyler also added:
Production on the project wrapped before the Hollywood shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic. Directed by Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya), Cruella will hit theaters on May 28, 2021.

More on Cruella
Back in 2019, AMCTheaters.com posted:
First shown on screen in 1961’s legendary animated classic 101 DALMATIANS, the villainous Cruella de Vil still stands as one of the most infamous Disney baddies to ever have walked the screen. Through an animated series, two live-action films, and another animated film, Cruella has been a symbol of fashion at its most wicked.
And now, we’re about to see another version of her: a younger, more introductory version of this horrific woman, who’ll show us how her reign of terror began. In Disney’s CRUELLA, we’ll travel back to the early years of this couture-driven diva’s obsession with dogs’ skins.
Can. Not. Wait. In the meantime, let’s all sing along!
