Yesterday, we posted information about Jamie Foxx and his return to the Spider-Man universe. The bankable actor is set to reprise his role from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Electro.
Now, while this is probably a novel and somewhat exciting thing for most film or Jamie Foxx fans, Spider-Man fans immediately thought “multiverse.”
Or, more specifically, “Spiderverse.”

Spider-Man 3 (2021) confirmed to feature Jamie Foxx as Electro, from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014), now in the MCU? What does this mean for the Sinister Six and a possible live-action Spiderverse with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield?
Why the hell is Sony bringing back Jamie Foxx as Electro in the MCU Spider-Man 3 (2021) with Tom Holland? Erik Voss explains how this surprising move is actually part of a live-action Spiderverse plan that Sony has been working toward for years, with various Easter Eggs and cameos in Spider-Man Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man Far From Home (2019), building towards a Sinister Six event in Spider-Man 3 that the studio has intended on launching since The Amazing Spider-Man 2 final scene.
How will Morbius and Venom 2 Let There Be Carnage factor into Sony’s Spiderverse and Sinister Six plan! What new details uncovered about JK Simmons’ cameo as J Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man Far From Home post-credit scene indicate Sony’s secret agenda for this third Spider-Man film? And how likely is it now that we’ll see cameos by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, and introductions of a live-action Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy?

Enter The Spiderverse?
Okay, I am all in on that theory, kids.
I LOVED the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man (the first one). And I LOVED the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man (the first one). Heck, the animated Spider-Man movie might be the best of the ENTIRE bunch. And how about an appearance by Tom Hardy’s Venom?
If they could find some way to make them all “exist” that would be AMAZING.
See what I did there, True Believers?
