Bonni Lou Kern – Original Mickey Mouse Club Mouseketeer Dies at 79
It’s always difficult sharing sad news. Bonni Lou Kern, one of the orginal Mouseketeers has passed away at the age of 79. Her family stated she passed away on September 28, 2020.
TMZ.com was the first to share the news: “Bonni died Monday in Wooster, Ohio … according to the Wayne County Health Dept. We’re told she died of natural causes.”
TMZ also stated, “As a Mouseketeer, the very first episode of “The Wonder Mouseketeers!” was named after her — titled, “Save Bonni Lou Kern!” — in which the other Mouseketeers help her out because she’s caught in a fishing net.”
The New York Post commented, “Kern starred alongside fellow Mouseketeers such as Annette Funicello, Judy Harriet and Eileen Diamond and appeared in the film “Save the Wonder Mouseketeers!”
The Post continued, “Later, Kern worked as a muppeteer on “The Muppet Show,” “The Great Muppet Caper” and “The Muppets: A Celebration of 30 Years,” among many others.”
Kern even won the presitgous Mousecar Award, which is the highest award you can get from Disney.
As an adult, Lynn changed her name to Bonni Carr after marrying Harold ‘Bud’ Carr in the late 1960s.
The Daily Mail reports, “She is survived by three daughters, six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.”
