Disney Clears Remnants Of The NBA Bubble From Grand Floridian
As NBA winds down its Playoff Season at Walt Disney World, Disney can now start to remove the fencing and extra large bedding that was brought onto the property to accommodate guests. We popped by Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort this morning and it was a bustle activity as this Disney Deluxe Resort gets ready to return to its previous splendor!
During our visit, old furniture including bed frames were coming out and new furniture put in its place.
Many of the outdoor common areas and gardens are having their blue fencing removed.
Construction crews were hard at work updating the property.
It was nice to once again be able to check out some of those beautiful Grand Floridian vistas!
The image below gives you an idea of the blue fencing that has been up since the resort opened in July.
In order to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Walt Disney World resorts that were housing the NBA players closed themselves off limiting those coming and going from the property.
The bubble became its own self-contained community within Disney World as players were shuttled between resorts and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex where games were taking place.
There’s still much work to be done and certain areas of the property did still have the fencing up.
As you can see from the image above this outdoor seating area on the property is still surrounded by fencing.
However, over the next few days we would expect nearly all of the fencing to come down on the property.
With the exception of new social distancing requirements we expect the property to slowly start to get back to normal. Just last week we here at MickeyBlog shared the news that Narcoossee’s will be reopening this month.
The footpath between the Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom is also nearing completion. Once done, guests staying at the Grand Floridian will be able to get to the theme park on foot as well as by boat and monorail.
We will be visiting the Grand Floridian regularly over the next few weeks and will keep you updated!
