#DisneyMagicMoments “It’s a Pirate’s Life for Me”
#DisneyMagicMoments has brought us so many incredible pictures and videos that give us insight into Disney. This week they picked the adventurous Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland to feature. They promise Disney fans they will “discover treasure and treasured secrets” as we dive into pirates.
“Since its debut in 1967, Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland park has transported millions of guests on a swashbuckling adventure. The immersive experience debuted as a technological marvel and storytelling masterpiece and has even inspired a global phenomenon, launching the highly popular film franchise.” (#DisneyMagicMoments)
You will board your own pirate ship and follow Captain Barbosa as he searches for the elusive Jack Sparrow through pirate country. In the ride and learn video, keep your eyes peeled for fun facts on these scoundrel pirates.
The Disneyland ride turned 53 back in March, and the Walt Disney Family Museum chose to pay tribute to the ride.
Yo ho! On this day 53 years ago, Disneyland guests traversed waterfalls and caves to happen upon a swashbuckling adventure—made real by the latest in Audio-Animatronics technology. Happy anniversary Pirates of the Caribbean, me hearties! pic.twitter.com/rEnd0wXwjM

Inspired by Disney’s Treasure Island, Imagineer Xavier “X” Atencio penned the famous song “A Pirate’s Life for Me” for the original ride. And, the ride was originally meant to be a wax museum. We think it is way better as a ride. Another fun fact is that Pirates of the Caribbean is the longest ride at Disneyland lasting almost 15 minutes. It contains 119 life-size figures including both man and beast.
What Disney Magic Moments do you and your family have from Pirates of the Caribbean? Is this one of your favorite rides and does it represent classic, original Disney to you as well?
