THE ‘72nd EMMY® AWARDS’ AIRS SUNDAY, SEPT. 20, ON ABC

The “72nd Emmy® Awards” will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, who returns for the third time and will also be serving as executive producer for television’s biggest night. ABC and the Television Academy have announced special appearances by some of Hollywood’s biggest stars during the “72nd Emmy® Awards.” Talent includes Anthony Anderson, America Ferrera, Issa Rae, Gabrielle Union, J.J. Watt, Lena Waithe, and Oprah Winfrey. Additionally, singer-songwriter and GRAMMY®-winning artist H.E.R. will make her Emmy® debut for a special “In Memoriam” performance. More talent joining the show will be announced soon.
Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the “72nd Emmy® Awards” will broadcast SUNDAY, SEPT. 20 (8:00 p.m. EDT/6:00 p.m. MDT/5:00 p.m. PDT), on ABC.

Disney Is Up for 145 Emmy Awards
Lastly, ABC posted:
The Walt Disney Company received a total of 145 Primetime Emmy® Award nominations, it was announced today by the Television Academy. Disney Television Studios had 47; ABC received 36 (up from 26 last year); FX received 33 nominations (up from 32 last year); Hulu collected 26 (up from 20 last year); Disney+, in its first showing, had 19; National Geographic had nine; ESPN had three; and Disney Channel had one. (As some of the nominations overlap, these are grand totals for each entity.) The net total for all Walt Disney Company entities comes to an impressive 145 nominations.
Leading the pack was Disney+ and Lucasfilm Ltd’s “The Mandalorian,” with 15 nominations including Outstanding Dramas series.
