VIDEO: Disney Airs New 2020 Christmas Commercial!
With Summer officially behind us, Disney is setting its sights on the Halloween Season and beyond. We’ve recently had a flurry of information regarding this year’s Christmas festivities with the news that Disney World will be offering scaled down celebrations in 2020 to keep with COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
As a result Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays have been cancelled for the year.
That being said, Disney is here to remind us that there’s still a lot of fun to be had at Walt Disney World during the 2020 Holiday Season. They have begun airing a brand new Christmas commercial!

Though we did FINALLY get a chance to see the commercial on TV Sunday evening, we knew about it well beforehand as the comments on Twitter had been pouring in. Now as far as the comments were concerned, they were definitely a mixed bag. Let’s take a look:
As you can see from the comments above, initial feedback over the commercial spot was shock, but not in a “WOW! Christmas is just around the corner!” sort of way but rather – “Disney, it’s only September!”
Other users were quick to point out (see above) that the timing for the commercial may not have been the best with many seeing it for the first time on 9/11.
However, here at MickeyBlog HQ, we tend to agree with the comment from Dan Voss above. Sure, it’s only September, but in a year where everyone could use something joyful – we’re not mad at it!

Discover Holiday Magic
It’s not surprising that Disney would launch an advertising campaign to coincide with the announcement of their Christmas festivities for 2020…particularly given that attendance numbers have been lower than expected going into the fall.
The push also coincides with discounts that Disney recently released for stays in the later half of the year.

However, at a time where the country is still focused on COVID, remembering 9/11 as well as the wildfires in the Western US, some wonder if it’s a bit too early for that big dose of Christmas cheer.
