Mos Eisley: LEGO Re-Sets The Cantina
LEGO’s Master Builder Series features Mos Eisley
Think about the sheer number of Star Wars conversations that begin and end in the Mos Eisley Cantina.
Nearly EVERY Lucasfilm creative lives and dies by “the cantina scene” in the original Star Wars (Episode IV, A New Hope).
Heck, the Emmy-nominated series The Mandalorian STARTS in a cantina and VISITS Tatooine’s cantina.
Officially Chalmun’s Spaceport Cantina, most Star Wars fans are fascinated by Obi-Wan Kenobi’s den of “scum and villainy.”
And whether they collected the original Kenner action figures or enjoy the current Black Series, cantina collectibles are among the most sought after items.
And now, with the upcoming Kenobi miniseries set to begin production soon (?), LEGO announced Mos Eisley Cantina – part of the Master Builder Series.

The Creation of the Cantina
How did LEGO arrive on Tatooine? Of course, Dan Brooks, the senior writer, and editor of StarWars.com, was on the case.
The LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina, arriving globally October 1 on LEGO.com and in LEGO Retail Stores with availability for LEGO VIP members on September 16, is a sprawling and epic tribute to one of the saga’s most famous sequences. Part of the Master Builder Series, it consists of 3,187 pieces, comes with 21 minifigures (including everyone from Han and Greedo to various alien patrons you won’t want to mess with), and includes a speeder and dewback, all making for the LEGO Group’s most expansive take ever on the Tatooine watering hole. StarWars.com reached out to LEGO Star Wars design director Jens Kronvold Frederiksen to talk about this “dream” version of the cantina, considering LEGO Star Wars fans’ wish lists, and a hilarious hidden surprise.

But what about the guy who actually assembled the set’s 3,187 bricks?
The Mother Ship quoted Frederiksen saying:
The Mos Eisley cantina scene is something special to most Star Wars fans but also for us at the LEGO Group. That’s why we have made it into LEGO sets several times; however, these sets have all been smaller models. The idea of creating a big, super-detailed version has been a dream for many years! We knew that a set like this would require a lot of minifigures — several of them with new molded heads. This time around we had the opportunity to make these, and then create the best set we could imagine, with most of the cool iconic aliens included as LEGO minifigures.
Have a look at a few of those Minifigs!
Oh, and there are MORE!

Will you make an attempt at this massive set?
Anyway, it’s all yours for $349.
The set appears to include more than 20 minifigures, including several who are appearing in minifigure form for the first time. Two notables are Doctor Cornelius Evazan and Ponda Baba, who didn’t “like” Luke. Others minifigures include the famous cantina band, Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes, the bartender Wuher, Labria, Greedo, Momaw Nadon, the Imperial Spy Garindan, two Sandtroopers, a Jawa, and the usual cast of heroes Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO, and R2-D2. Interestingly, the set also appears to include Lak Sivrak, a pointy-eared Shistavanen who only appeared in the film’s original cut, not the Special Edition where he was digitally replaced by Ketwol.
