Savi’s Workshop- Handbuilt Lightsabers Is Reopening On September 20th
Calling all you Jedis in training! We’ve got some exciting news coming to you straight from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The theme park has just announced that Savi’s Workshop-Handbuilt Lightsabers will be reopening on September 20th.
Head to Black Spire Outpost in the heart of Batuu where The Gatherers will invoite you into this mysterious shop to train you in the ways of the lightsaber. Its an incredible, fully-immersive experience and you can check it out below:
As you explore the shop you’ll notice that its packed with unusual parts and whimsical pieces from the far reaches of the galaxy. Under the guidance of the mystical Gatherers’ guidance you can build a one-of-a-kin lightsaber and bring it to life through the power of a kyber crystal. You can build your lightsaber alone one of these four awesome themes:
- Peace and Justice – Utilize salvaged scraps of fallen Jedi temples and crashed starships in Republic-era lightsaber designs that honor the galaxy’s former guardians.
- Power and Control – Originally forged by warriors from the dark side, objects used in this lightsaber style are rumored remnants from the Sith home world and abandoned temples.
- Elemental Nature – Craft a lightsaber from special components born from the Force, such as Brylark trees, Cartusion whale bones or Rancor teeth.
- Protection and Defense – Incorporate hilt materials bearing mysterious motifs and inscriptions that reconnect a lightsaber’s wielder with the ancient wellspring of the Force.
In order to accommodate the theme parks current health and safety guidelines, some of the elements of the Savi experience have been adjusted. For example, capacity is being reduced to ensure physical distancing between guests.
Advanced reservations are still strongly recommended and they will open up on September 16th. Reservations can be made via Disneyworld.com or the My Disney Experience mobile app; you can also stop by the shop to check for walk-up availability on the day of your visit.
Please Note: Guests must have a valid Disney Parks Pass reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios prior to making a reservation for Savi’s Workshop.
