Is the MaxPass System Coming to Walt Disney World?
It was announced a few months ago that Walt Disney World would be suspending the FastPass system indefinitely. With no word yet on when the system may be brought back and after a recent visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we have reason to believe the current FastPass system might be scrapped all together in favor of the MaxPass which has been used and will be used once Disneyland reopens.
The First Sign of the MaxPass Coming to Walt Disney World?
We received the first hint that the MaxPass system might be coming to Walt Disney World when a MickeyTravels agent received a boarding group for the popular Rise of the Resistance. When the agent received the boarding group, “View Entry Code” was noted on it. This was not previously listed and this is also what shows up on MaxPasses in Disneyland.
The MickeyTravels agent did ask a Cast Member at the attraction what the “View Entry Code” meant and was told, “Not to worry about it right now.” They also scanned their MagicBand to access the ride as they have been doing and the virtual queue system remains in effect.
Hmmmm…..
All About the MaxPass System
As mentioned, the MaxPass system has been in use at Disneyland for some time now for an extra daily fee. (The FastPass system is still available there but they use the paper FastPasses just like we used to do at Walt Disney World that you select when you are in the Parks.)
The MaxPass system allows you to select one FastPass for an attraction or entertainment option at a time via your smart phone as you make your way through the Parks. In addition the purchase of the MaxPass allows you access to your Disney PhotoPass photos. This kind of makes it FastPasses and the MemoryMaker all combined in one.
So, FastPasses are still available but you don’t need to make them in advance and you make them digitally through your phone.
Since Walt Disney World has not officially released anything regarding the implementation of the MaxPass system at this time, this is all just a rumor. Make sure to keep it here with MickeyBlog.com for all the latest!
