Splash Mountain Boat Sinks While Guests Were Riding
Seems as though that soon-to-be Splash Mountain re-theming is coming at the perfect time. Sometime yesterday, guests had to suddenly evacuate their ride vehicle as it started to sink when they were stopped on the ride. Yes, you heard that right. See the short clip below.

You can hear the Cast Member telling the Guests to stay in the boat, that it’s a safety hazard to exit the vehicle. Clearly, the safety hazard was remaining in the vehicle. Look at another post below.

Thankfully, no one got hurt and everyone got out of the boat in time. But it’s just another reason why Splash needs a major rehaul. Seems there have been many times over the last couple of weeks where it has broken down.
Visitors to Walt Disney World have been clamoring to go for a ride on Splash Mountain with the recent news that the attraction will be going through a bit of a metamorphosis. Disney announced earlier this year that this classic attraction will be getting a face-lift and will soon boast a Princess and the Frog theme.

This has led to longer lines at the Frontierland attraction (despite the lower crowd numbers) as well as huge waits to purchase Splash Mountain items before the ride closes for refurbishment and we say goodbye to Brer Fox and Brer Rabbit.
You can currently find a lot of the sold out Splash Mountain merchandise on Ebay where now unfortunately they’re going for three times the cost!
As of right now, Disney has yet to announce when the project will shut down for refurbishment.
