Happy Birthday Casey Jr Circus Train!
Choo-Choo! We’ve got something you’ll want to toot your horn over this Friday! Casey Jr Circus Train the much-loved classic Fantasyland ride officially turns 65 years old today! The ride has been delighted children and adult guests ever since!
The inspiration from this ride was taken from the “brave little engine” that appeared in the 1941 animated classic Dumbo and is known for its individually designed and vibrantly painted cars. This includes special animal cage cars and beautifully covered slays. Its always a joy to watch kids run to their favorite train car.
As Disney’s historians will tell you, train riders in the early days didn’t have too much scenery to gaze upon. However once the Storybook Land Canal Boats opened in 1955, miniature scenes of fairy tale villages and vistas provided the perfect backdrop to passengers aboard Casey Jr Circus Train as well.
To this day (though Disneyland is unfortunately STILL closed until further notice) the attraction remains a firm favorite. It even boasts the awesome circus ringmaster narration which was added to the attraction back in 1983.
And as always who can’t help but delight when the train heads back to the station while recite his famous motto “I think I can, I think I can.”
