Pixar Reveals Release Date For Next Feature Film Luca
Today Pixar Animation Studios revealed some details about their latest feature film Luca. The film is directed by Academy Award nominee Enrico Casarosa who directed the delightful Pixar Short La Luna and will be produced by Andrea Warren (Lava, Cars 3.) We are delighted to let you know that Luca is officially slated to hit theaters on June 18, 2021.
The film is set in a picturesque seaside town on the Italian Riviera. The animated feature tells the story of a young boy who is having and unforgettable summer with a newfound best friend. However, happiness is threatened by a secret. He is a sea monster from another world just below the surface of the water.
Director Enrico Casarosa had this to say of the project, “This is a deeply personal story for me, not only because it’s set on the Italian Riviera where I grew up, but because at the core of this film is a celebration of friendship. Childhood friendships often set the course of who we want to become and it is those bonds that are at the heart of our story in ‘Luca.”
Casarosa continues, “So in addition to the beauty and charm of the Italian seaside, our film will feature an unforgettable summer adventure that will fundamentally change Luca.”

While Joe tries to show 22 the joy of life, he learns some very important lessons along the way.
