Get A Feel For The New Tron Coaster Coming to Tomorrowland With This Lightcyle Run-Through From Shanghai
One of the things in the Disney pipeline that already has us massively excited is the upcoming edition of the new TRON Coaster which is currently under construction at Magic Kingdom. The attraction will sit next to Space Mountain and give guests a chance to go on a fast-paced ride through cyber-space making it a coaster the likes of which you’ve never seen before.
Well sort of…you see, the TRON coaster is inspired by the headlining TRON Lightcycle Power Run attraction that has been wowing guests to Shanghai Disneyland since it first opened back in 2016. That’s why we’re excited to share a Ride & Learn video that Disney created for this iconic attraction. From the feeling of launching out under an undulating canopy to the glowing lightcyles, be prepared to be blown away!
If that doesn’t make you excited for the TRON coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom then I don’t know what will! And as a bonus treat, here are some pictures we took of construction on the TRON coaster that we took during our visit to Magic Kingdom this week:
As you can see from the signage in front of the construction sight, there will be lots of similarities between this ride and one in Shanghai!
We took this shot from Storybook Circus and it shows you just how massive the track is for this ride as it spans its way in front of Space Mountain.
The space being allotted to Magic Kingdom’s newest attraction is HUGE! We can’t wait to see it once its complete!
Similar to what we see in Shanghai, a majority of the action for this attraction will take place indoors. This massive building has already been erected to house the coaster.

And here’s a shot of the ride in Shanghai, just to give you a sense of the awesomeness that’s to come!
As of going to print, Disney has yet to say when they expect Magic Kingdom’s TRON coaster to be complete nor if COVID-19 will mean massive delays. However, we here at MIckeyBlog maintain our optimism and believe that we’ll be able to climb onboard at some point next year. Keep following along with us and we promise to keep you posted!
