Ample Hills Creamery WILL NOT Be Coming Back To Disney
It is a sad day for ice cream lovers with the news that Ample Hills Creamery which had a location at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and was expected to open an additional shop at Disney Springs WILL NOT be returning to Walt Disney World. According to a recent piece in Attractions Magazine (which you can check out here), a spokesperson for the company confirmed the news yesterday.
According to the piece in Attractions Magazine, a spokesperson for Ample Hills said, ““Prior to the acquisition, the Disney agreement with Ample Hills creamery ended (back in January).” The statement continues, “As a result, Ample Hills will close at Disney’s BoardWalk and the proposed Ample Hills location at Disney Springs will not open later this year.”
As we reported back in March, as a result of the COVID-19 shutdown, the company made the decision to file for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and is likely having to scale back operations. However, for those paying a visit to the Big Apple, its NYC shops will remain open.
And…for those craving your favorite Ample Hills Creamery flavors like “I Contain Breakfast Foods,” “Ooey Gooey Butter Cake” and “Nonna D’s Oatmeal Lace” there is still hope! As you can see from the Instagram Post above, the company announced this Spring that they have resumed their ice cream delivery service. This means that you can get your ice cream packed in dry ice and delivered straight to your doorstep. I actually did just that as a Father’s Day gift for my Dad and it went down a (sweet) treat! You can find out more about home delivery here.
