Three Cheers For The Animal Care Teams At Walt Disney World
A visit to Walt Disney World simply would not be the same without our animal friends and those that look after them. Each year, along with colleagues at zoos and aquariums around the world, the animal care team at Walt Disney World spend their entire careers caring for wild life. Disney has an incredible team of animal keepers, aquarists and water scientists. You’ll also find ranch hands and veterinary team members and scientists along with nutritionists, behaviorists and leaders.
The cast members hail from all over the world and bring a range of different skills and talents to care for the thousands of animals who call Disney’s parks and resorts home.
Disney’s passion for animals and conservation dates all the way back to Walt Disney himself. He created the True-Life Adventures film series providing audiences with a chance to learn more about the lives of animals they may never see personally. It is a mission that you’ll still see at the parks today, especially at Animal Kingdom theme park with its emphasis on living in harmony with nature and working to protect animals around the planet.
Caring for animals is a 24/7, 365 days a year responsibility and Disney has teams that work around the clock and the care of each animal is their number one priority. Their remit covers everything from preparing a diet to an elephant or training a tiger to participate in its own healthcare. And NOW guests have an opportunity to peek behind-the-scenes with a new show coming to Disney+ and in conjunction with National Geographic called “The Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.”
This new series on Disney+ will give viewers a one-of-a-kind look into the daily operation of our advanced animal care and veterinary facilities at Animal Kingdom as well as The Seas With Nemo & Friends at EPCOT. The series will showcase the dedication and expertise of Disney’s incredible teams of animal care experts.
