New Details for the DVC Tower at the Disneyland Hotel
Plans for the new Disney Vacation Club Tower at the Disneyland Hotel in California are set for review this week. This 12 story DVC tower is definitely moving forward. Construction has been halted at Disneyland as the parks have been closed since March due to the COVID-19 spread. But, there are small signs of hope things will eventually be open including the opening of Downtown Disney.
Concept art was released this week. The tower will include amenities like pool, a pool bar, community hall, and fitness center, all other amenities, like retail, restaurants, valet, meeting spaces, and check-in will be provided by the existing facilities at the Disneyland Hotel.
The construction plans filed with the City of Anaheim this week show that the tower will contain five types of villas at the new tower, including a small studio typed “pod,” a larger studio, 1-bedroom lock-off, 2-bedroom, and two-story “Grand Villa.”
The pool will have a Mickey “Ink and Paint” design with an interactive water feature that looks like the image of Mickey is being painted on the bottom of the pool. There also appears to be other water features and a spa. Splash zones for kids are present and lounging areas around the pool.
The exterior colors are muted and include light stone, aluminum and dark wood. Here is a color palate on the outside materials.
The plans are still under review by the City of Anaheim and the tower is not scheduled to open until 2024. Construction will take up to four years, so it might even be later than that for the actual opening. But, DVC members will have a new home at Disneyland.
